“It Smurfs at the Observatory!”: an exhibition at the Planetarium of Brussels

Paul Melchior, former director of the Royal Observatory of Belgium, was cartoonist Peyo’s friend. Together they chose to illustrate the current research in Earth sciences at the Observatory with the Smurfs.
Hence, no less than 18 greeting cards featuring the joyful little blue men are published from 1966, all of them being inspired by the research and instruments of the Observatory. The Planetarium of Brussels presents you all of these cards along with some of the real illustrated objects.
Practical information:
Planetarium of the Royal Observatory of Belgium
Avenue de Bouchout/ Boechoutlaan, 10
1020 Brussels
FREE exhibition from June 9, 2018
Open from 10.30 until 17.00
