Hey, Space Placers!April 12, 1961The Soviet Union (formerly USSR, now Russia Federation) launches first human into space, Yuri Gagarin on this date. Gagarin orbits the Earth for 108 minute flight. April 12 is the International Day of Human Space Flight. 60 years ago, Yuri Gagarin had his first historic flight into the cosmos.
