Imagine taking a class of children to the surface of Mars, allowing them follow the path taken by the Mars rovers or to climb up Olympus Mons. Or, how about going on a tour of CERN, the giant particle collider in Switzerland, without worrying accidentally walking in to a deadly beam of particles!
Virtual reality allows you to do all of this and much more, without having to leave your school or house. Virtual reality consists of a headset containing a screen, which when worn on your head, shows you a virtual world. As you move your head around, you look around the virtual world, with any objects appearing as real 3D objects in front of you!
