Here’s a unique opportunity.
In the years 2010/2011 there will be a satellite launched called KEO. KEO is a small satellite weighing in at something less than 220 lbs (100 kg) it will fly as a secondary payload onboard another launch that will put it in an appropriate orbit, that’s why there isn’t an actual launch date.
So here is the opportunity (and it’s free!), From the KEO site:
Each one is invited to send a message that will transcend time and space to reach out to our distant descendants 50,000 years later.
A message for 50,000 years later? It is an invitation to perceive ourselves under a different light. By sharing each others’ messages we can rediscover our diversity, our individual values as well as our common humanity.
Hey, we might be here in 50,000 years at the rate we are going but what the heck. I might not do all four pages but we will never know anyways so it’s a leap of faith. Count me in.
Pay a visit the KEO website. the website is deceptively full of information. If you do decide to participate you have until the end of the year to get it done.
