On August 23-24, 2010, Jupiter Rises At 21:11 EDT / 01:11 UTC And Has A Magnitude Of -2.86. Just After The Planet Rises The Moon Ganymede Goes Into Eclipse. Then Two Minutes Later The Moon Io Starts To Transit And Io's Shadow Has Been In Transit Early On. Just Before Midnight Io & It's Shadow Will End It's Transit. Also You May Get To See The Last Half Of The Great Red Spot's Transit. Last And Late After About Six Hours Ganymede Will End Being Occulted.On August 24-25, 2010, Jupiter Rises At 21:07 EDT / 01:07 UTC And Has A Magnitude Of -2.87. If You Stay Up Late You Will Be Able To See The Great Red Spot Transit From Start To Finish.
