On August 19-20, 2010, Jupiter Rises At 21:28 EDT / 01:28 UTC And Has A Magnitude Of -2.84. If You Stay Up Late Then Yo Can Watch The Great Red Spot Transit From Start To Finish. Also At Mid-Transit You Will See Ganymede Appear To Be 10" Arc Seconds South Of The Moon Io.On August 20-21, 2010, Jupiter Rises At 21:23 EDT / 01:23 UTC And Has A Magnitude Of -2.85. There Is A Lot Going On We Have The Only Time When A Moon In This Case Callisto Goes Into Eclipse & Comes Out Of Eclipse With Out Being Occulted. It's Due To The Moon Is So Far Away & In Back Of The Planet. We Also Have Europa Transiting The Face Of Jupiter. Last The Moon Io Will Start Into Eclipsed Just Before Sunrise. Also The Great Red Spot Will Be Transit From Start To Finish And Europa's Shadow May Even Be Cast Onto The Great Red Spot Too.
