On August 15-16, 2010, Jupiter Rises At 21:44 EDT / 01:44 UTC And Has A Magnitude Of -2.82. We Have Io Ingres Into Jupiter's Shadow Just After The Planet Rises And Will Reappear About 3 Hours Later. We Also Will Get To See The Great Red Spot Transit From Start To Finish.On August 16-17, 2010, Jupiter Rises At 21:40 EDT / 01:40 UTC And Has A Magnitude Of -2.83. Just Over A Half Hour After The Planet Rises The Moon Io Will End It's Transit Of The Face Of Jupiter. Then Just After Midnight The Moon Ganymede Ends Being Occulted By Jupiter. If You're Up Before Sunrise You May Get To See The The Great Red Spot On The Eastern Limb Of Jupiter. It May Be Hard To See.
