If the Earth were the size of Pluto, this is what it would look like as seen from New Horizons one year from today, on July 13, 2015. The July 8 picture had Charon (played by the moon) in it, but now we are close enough to Pluto and Charon that we will have to take separate pictures to get both of them if Pluto is in the center.
The picture on the left show how big Pluto will be in the full frame of LORRI, our LOng Range Reconnaissance Imager, the right is a zoom in on Pluto/Earth to show you the level of detail we will see.
I will admit, I cheated a little when I made this picture: LORRI images are not in color. But we have another instrument, Ralph, that we will use to make color images— it has lower resolution though.
