On 12 december 12, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) denied a protest filed by start-up launch provider Blue Origin, LLC, challenging NASA planned lease of Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Centre to SpaceX (Space Exploration Technolgies Corp) noting that under the original intention of NASA’s announcement for proposals (AFP), it was supposed to be for the use of several companies rather than be used solely by one company’s launch vehicles. NASA took the position that this was not specified. The GAO has now agreed with NASA, though NASA currently is stilll in the process of evaluating proposals submitted by Blue Origin and SpaceX.
