Armagh Observatory reports that January was duller and wetter
than average.

The number of hours of sunshine was 33.1, which is nearly 30%
less than the most recent 30-year (1981-2010) January monthly
average and the dullest January since 1997. The total
precipitation for the month was 85.9 mm (3.36 inches), that is,
about 15% more than the most recent 30-year (1981-2010)
