The Grasshopper is a 10-story tall rocket consisting of a Falcon 9 rocket first state Merlin 1D engine. The assembly is fitted with steel landing legs with hydraulic dampers and a steel support structure giving the whole thing that 1950′s sci-fi look except this is real.
The 12 story flight gets rapid rocket re-usability a little closer to reality.
