17 May 2012, 14:56 UTC
The partial solar eclipse will be visible Monday morning around 5:30am to 7:06am according to Astronomical League of the Philippines (ALP). To give you an idea what to see on that day, here’s an eclipse simulation of the event in Southeast Asia: http://shadowandsubstance.com/201205/SEASIA.swf
Below are details on when and where you can observe the partial solar eclipse in the Philippines with fellow amateur astronomers. Everyone is invited to join them and it’s for free! Check this post again for updates.
Philippine Astronomical Society (PAS)
Members of the Philippine Astronomical Society will observe the event at the Manila Observatory roofdeck in Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU). They will meet at the observatory’s reception area at 8PM on May 20 to have an overnight stargazing. They will observe the eclipse the following day.

Announcement from Dr. Armando Lee of ALP:
Monday Partial Solar Eclipse observation and public viewing will be in Rizal Park. We will be setting up with Manila Planetarium staff at the walkway of the lawn East side of the Rizal Monument.
The event is two days before my birthday and I’m pretty excited to watch it even via live webcast.
Clear skies ...
