Some companies don’t just make good products, they also give back to the community. Southern Stars, the company behind Sky Safari planetarium software and the Sky Wire telescope controller for iPhones is one of those companies. During the 2009 International Year of Astronomy, they donated a portion of every Sky Safari sale to IYA2009. In the past 3 years, they’ve continued to innovate their software, adding more features and content as they’ve also improved the interface.
It’s now 2012, and every April we celebrate what we accomplished in 2009 with Global Astronomy Month (GAM). This astronomy celebration, organized by Astronomers without Borders (AWB), includes a whole series of events, and here at CosmoQuest we’re joining in with our Million Crater Challenge.
